*(Competencies were described as Threshold, Core, Differentiating and World Class) It is these qualities David brings to his current mentoring roles with executives.

David’s experience has been in General Management in the highly regulated Pharmaceutical Industry and in Fast Moving Consumer Goods.

In these positions, David has been a change agent, leading organisations and his teams through substantial change, while continuing to deliver required results.

Prior to that David was Managing Director of Boots Healthcare Australia. Over 7 years in that role the business was totally restructured, transforming it from a modestly profitable integrated manufacturing and marketing organisation with a prescription medicine outlook to a lean, highly successful Fast Moving Consumer Goods Company.

Richard STONEHAM
BA Hons, ACMA

  • Honours Degree Industrial Economics
  • Associate of Institute of Chartered Accountants
  • Participant, three US-based professional systems thinking courses
  • Licensed business broker
  • Accredited Associate of Institute for Independent Business
  • Member Society of Learning Australia (SoLA)

Certified, The Art of the Business Mentor two-day program by iMentor-pro

Richard Stoneham has extensive general and senior executive management and consulting experience across many industries, living and working in Europe, the Middle East and Australasia. He has exceptional cross-cultural experience.

Richard has lived and worked in UK, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and New Zealand and has worked on assignments across Asia/Pacific, USA and other Middle East countries. Prior to starting his own business consulting business and becoming involved in various joint ventures he concluded his corporate career as an Asia/Pacific executive in a small global group of executive change agents working for EDS, the global IT services company. Prior to this Richard had experience in various director roles in companies ranging across engineering, trading, property development, construction materials, executive search and IT industries.

Richard has been an active business leader and change specialist with heavy involvement in shaping mergers, transformation programs, strategic organisational realignments and capability development programs. His approach to change management is based on systems thinking and people leadership principles that recognize the reality of complexity in today’s business world and that traditional scientific management approaches often do not provide an adequate answer to complex business problems. His approach enables change programs to ‘stick’ successfully and realize the intended business benefits.

Due to his interest in managing successful change in complex environments Richard has developed and delivers executive education workshops on ‘Implementing Strategy’ through the Centre for Continuing Education, University of Sydney and other organisations outside of Sydney.

Richard has been involved in business-mentoring for many years, providing support to corporate employees, start-up owners and consulting and business advisory clients. Richard’s extensive business experience, consultative approach and people skills means he is well-suited to the role of sharing explicit tacit knowledge.

Richard has an honours degree in Industrial Economics and is slightly embarrassed to admit he is qualified as an accountant, but with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, whose approach, he claims, is to look forward rather than backward and in fact grounded his excellent financial analysis and management skills. He is a member of the Society of Learning.
